Born into a working-class family, Marco Raugei attended school for five years but, deemed unfit, was placed in various medico-educational institutions. Since 1986, he has been attending La Tinaia in Florence.
He always speaks while drawing, reciting a kind of psalmody that is often incomprehensible and alternating different voices. His graphic style is primarily characterized by motifs that he repeats very regularly. He draws only objects or figures from his daily life, stopping only when the page is completely filled.
