Koji Nishioka has attended the Corners workshop in Osaka since 2015. Although he only began drawing in 2004, he has been interested in writing and signs since childhood, copying them onto the backs of advertising leaflets or into his school notebooks. Passionate about music, he plays the piano and, in the 2010s—some years after an old piano with sheet music was donated to the workshop—began transcribing musical scores, transforming their lines into ship-like forms that resonate with music, thus visually rendering sound effects.
