Fabienne Gilson lives at the Hemptinne center (a residential facility for adults with severe intellectual disabilities), where she attends a drawing and painting workshop. Her graphic work features two recurring themes: figures and houses. In an infinite range of variations, Fabienne Gilson seems to use these “signs” like the letters of an alphabet, or a vocabulary of her own. At times, she comments on her drawings with a form of calligraphy whose meaning belongs only to her.
