It was with pastel drawing that Laura Delvaux began her artistic activity at La « S » Grand Atelier in Vielsalm. Her trajectory took a decisive turn in 2008 when she began exploring new forms of expression through the textile medium. After creating dolls sewn from various pieces of fabric, she developed her work toward more abstract constructions, made from small decorative objects, toys, or soft toys, which she methodically wrapped with colored wool threads until they partially or completely disappeared beneath the fibrous layers. For the collective project Ave Luïa, she applied this technique to plaster Virgins.
