Beverly Baker draws from books and magazines, endlessly copying fragments of text. Driven by a graphomaniac practice, she writes relentlessly on the same sheet of paper, gradually covering it with words, lines, and colours until an entirely new visual language emerges, giving rise to fully abstract compositions. Most of her drawings are executed in ballpoint pen, coloured pencil, and permanent marker.
Beverly Baker is a member of Latitude Artist Community in Lexington, Kentucky. The organization is dedicated to supporting artists, particularly those with disabilities, by fostering their full participation in artistic, cultural, and civic life.
