ALAGBE yvan

[1971, Paris, France]

Born to a French mother and a Beninese father, Yvan Alagbé lives in the Creuse region and teaches comics at HEAR in Strasbourg. After completing scientific studies in 2002, he co-founded Frémok. During a residency at La “S” Grand Atelier, he joined the Ave Luïa project by drawing and personalizing bottles of sacramental wine. He then initiated a reinterpretation of Gustave Doré’s Bible through linocut printmaking. The first volume, The Golden Gospel of Jesus-Sad, was published in 2017 by Knock Outsider, followed by his coordination of the Big Band Doré Bible Brigade on the Old Testament.
