Vlasta Kodríková was born and raised in a family that had maintained a close connection to spiritualism for two generations. Married, she was a homemaker and raised her children. A first period of creative activity began before their birth, between the 1950s and 1960s.
Kodríková’s drawings, which she signed with the name “Tulák” (“the Wanderer”), feature amoeba-like or flat, freely geometric forms, often accompanied by decorative details. Interrupted by motherhood, the need to draw resurfaced later, giving rise this time to monochrome figures, purely geometric, linear, perfectly symmetrical, and expressing a personal ornamental language.
