BRAILLON David

[1970, Dreux, France]

As a teenager, David Braillon was deeply marked by the accidental death of his father and brother. Coming from a railway family, he had been fascinated by trains since childhood, but he failed to be hired by the SNCF and regularly wandered through freight stations, also collecting specialized brochures. A chaotic path led him to prison, where he then devoted all his time to drawing freight trains. On large sheets of graph paper and using a ruler, he meticulously staged wagons and locomotives, sometimes arranged over several meters in length, in superimposed levels.
