KIMURA Keigo

[1997, Province De Shiga, Japan]

At the age of seven, Keigo Kimura began drawing trains, a singular passion that has never left him. Over time, he has also explored other materials, such as clay and wood, while keeping trains as the central subject of his artistic practice.
Today, the artist primarily creates long train compositions on rolls of shoji paper, a traditional Japanese paper used for sliding screens and partition panels. Some of his drawings can reach up to seven metres in length. With remarkable precision, he depicts every detail, from the first to the last carriage, paying particular attention to the balance of forms and the harmony of colours.
