Farmer all his life, Emile Ratier started losing sight from 1960, but managed to turn this handicap into an artistic production of encouraging ingenuity. He drew on his memories and assembled pieces of wood, creating carts, Eiffel towers, mills, merry-go-rounds, music boxes and clocks. His constructions, designed to be touched and listened to, can be operated with a system of crank handles that move animals, bells, swings and rattle the springs and slides. Enchanting and musical artwork, intended to entertain.
