abcd Collection / Bruno Decharme

Published on the occasion of the exhibition Art Brut – abcd Collection / Bruno Decharme, held at La Maison Rouge, 18 October 2014 – 18 January 2015.
Paris, abcd & Flammarion, 2014.

This publication adopts the subjective perspective of the collector, who proposes a personal journey through the collection. Each stage, each chapter develops a particular theme and invites contributors from a wide range of disciplines—scientists, philosophers, psychoanalysts, musicologists, writers, art historians—to bring their perspectives into dialogue. This kaleidoscopic approach departs from the conventional ways of considering the field of Art Brut and is better suited to our contemporary moment, in which the boundaries of art and categories of thought have become increasingly porous and fluid.
