Junko Yamamoto grew up watching her mother who was a seamstress at home. In the late 1990s, a friend of the family who owned a company manufacturing felt sent her a large amount of this material. Intrigued, Junko Yamamoto selected some pieces of different colours and began the production of everyday objects and household life, all from felt: lamps, small appliances, fruits, vegetables, clothing. To this date she has produced more than 1,000 works, which act as a substitute for language that she is not able to use.
