ARIMONT rita

[1967, Malmedy, Belgium]

Rita Arimont was born into a German-speaking family. She joined the «La S» workshop in Vielsalm in 2001, where she developed her own artistic language through the creation of eclectic sculptures made from recycled materials, ranging from textiles to plastic and cardboard. Later, a fortuitous yet decisive encounter with jacket shoulder pads, made from a particularly malleable foam, led her to conceive curious assemblages for Ave Luïa, integrating these cloud-like forms with crucifixes found in flea markets.
