Originally from the Liège region, Barbara Massart has attended La “S” Grand Atelier in Vielsalm since 2012. Upon her arrival, she turned to textile creation, initially focusing on fashion. Her curiosity later led her to explore other techniques and media such as ceramics, drawing, and printmaking.
For several years, she has collaborated with Belgian photographer Nicolas Clément, with whom she co-wrote and co-directed two short films in which she stages herself wearing her own creations. For the project Ave Luïa, she made sewn crosses — fragile and delicate — perhaps revealing a closeness to the Passion of Christ.
