Georgine Hu faced a very difficult youth in a family of seven children, born to an alcoholic father, detained several times, who raped her, and a mother unable to cope with their education. At fourteen, mentally ill, she was temporarily hospitalized. Three years later, she was hospitalized for good in Saint-Venant. Her work is divided into two parts. In the first she represents mostly cities, images inspired by newspaper clippings, pictures of animals or human figures. The second consists of a series of bank notes drawn on toilet paper. Georgine Hu represented herself on them as a historical figure or royal effigy. Similar to kings, she produces money. These bank notes have a real exchange value for her, the reason for which she distributed them to the hospital staff.
