Mutant insects, hybrid creatures, monsters of every kind, chimeras, ghosts, fragmented bodies, apocalyptic landscapes: some worlds are marked by confusion, the blending of genres, unusual associations, disarticulation, and recomposition. Reality collapses, and strangeness emerges, unsettling and disturbing. These improbable scenarios draw on the collective imagination of all that threatens our humanity. Such creations were a particularly rich source of inspiration for Surrealism.
