After the painful experience of learning to draw and paint at school, Sandra Sheehy lost confidence and abandoned any artistic ambition, as advised by her teachers. A few years later, she decided to buy colored cotton threads to try out embroidery. She always worked on one piece at a time, without pre-established idea – she left her hand to be led by her imagination, without any attempt at representation of a model or object. For her, her embroidery expressed her love and and admiration for the world around her.
