Jill Gallieni began making dolls very early on, then, around the age of thirty, she began her graphic work: prayers to Saint Rita, patron saint of desperate causes. Every morning, she begins to pray and opens her notebook. Initially addressed to Sain Rita de Cascia, she writes her pious recommendations using a black pen or colored ink. She invents prayer phrases, always the same, repeated hundreds of times, similar to prayer beads with hidden meaning. These prayers bear witness to a permanent questioning of her spirituality and are representative of a long process of creation that has lasted for more than twenty years. On the recommendation of the Italian saint, she has started addressing other prayers to the Virgin Mary.
