Jacqueline B. was born in a complicated family situation. She was initially taken care of by her father’s employees and subsequently, sent to school until the age of five. She returned to her family home when her father remarried and was raised by a loving stepmother. Skinny and nervous, she experienced great difficulties at school so she was successively assigned to two schools run by nuns. But at twenty-three, she could barely read and write, her health was fragile and her behavior remained restless. Encouraged by her stepmother, she began to draw – faces and figures, deformed bodies in various poses – an activity that became her only passion. Since 1964, she has lived in a nursing home near Grasse.
