Manuela Sagona has attended the art studio Blu Cammello in Franco Basaglia residential center in Livorno since 1999. Her work is characterized by strong stylization of her models and a great sense for ornamentation, while her sleek lines are reminiscent of tattoos. Part of her work is devoted to the representation of the same theme: a rose, unearthed in a magazine, which she has been representing for several years as large surfaces, a kind of colored “rugs” surrounded by a black outline.
